Joe Locke

lead / rhythm guitar, vocals

Born in Muskegon, Michigan, I got my first guitar at the age of 18. I was inspired by the sounds of Jeff Beck, The Beatles, and David Gilmore of Pink Floyd. I soon took music theory at Muskegon Community College and taught guitar lessons at Bird's Music in Muskegon two years later.

In 1982 Jane Bassett and I formed a group named Fallen Angel. We were a top 40 rock band that played local clubs in and around Muskegon. We got our first real taste of the music scene when we backed up The Romantics in 1983. Shortly after this, Augie Miller joined the band and gave us a second guitar and the back up vocals we were lacking.

JoeTight fit formed in 1987, playing a harder edged 80's rock. Jimi Ray joined the band in 1988, a young talented musician who helped to inspire me to write original material. Shortly after that we acquired Jay Carr, adding solid bass playing and dynamic showmanship to contribute the final piece to the Tight Fit band.

Since Tight Fit went on hiatus in 1993, I have performed with various local bands playing clubs in the area. From 1993 1994 I played in the 2 man Techno rock band, Trick or Treat. Using computers and sound machines, we played classic rock from the 70's, 80's and 90's. From 1995 through 2001 I played lead and rhythm guitar with 2 other local bands, performing in clubs throughout Muskegon. I look forward to bringing the excitement of Tight Fit back to the West Michigan area.
